"Welcome to the World"

This Sunday we celebrated Christmas! Our sermon is from Luke 2:1-20 and is entitled "Welcome to the World." That’s an intentional play on words because we studied the entrance of the Lord Jesus Christ into our world at Bethlehem. Mighty angels and smelly shepherds meet to marvel, to rejoice, and to give glory to God in the highest because Christ has come to us so that we might come to God. The world did not welcome Jesus. He was born in obscurity and poverty. But that was to make something clear – the obscure and the poor were welcome to come to God through Him. Let’s come to God. Let’s open our hearts and lives to the One who opened up His heart and His heaven to us!
