"REALLY GREAT NEWS FOR A DESPERATELY DIVIDED WORLD"

This Sunday’s message was from one of the great texts of Scripture in Romans 1:16-17. The sermon is entitled “Really Great News for a Desperately Divided World.” Paul declares that he is "not ashamed of the gospel…” Why isn’t he ashamed of the gospel? Why would he even be ashamed of the gospel in the first place? Well, some might suggest that the gospel lets people off too easy. Some fear that the freeness of God’s grace might give people the excuse to carry on in sin. Deeply religious people may find the gospel too easy on sinners. Deeply rebellious people might find the gospel too narrow. For Paul, the gospel is the only thing that is actually powerful enough to rescue both pagan idolaters and religious hypocrites. It can save anyone from any background at any time and in any place! It is the power of God unto salvation. Let’s come and see why the gospel has radically transformed, engaged, and compelled the apostle Paul to share Christ. And let’s pray that it will do the same for us!
