June 6, 2021 "The God who Empowers the Powerless"

As a church family we have been on a journey into the deep love and grace of God in the gospel. This week as we turn to our fighter verses in Isaiah 40, we will discover again that the power of God works powerfully in and through the weak and needy. We live in a world that is fast paced and exults in strength and self-sufficiency, and we are constantly tempted to buy into the same mode of operation. However, in the gospel we discover in fresh and powerful ways that God empowers, not the strong, but the weak. Not the self-sufficient, but those who are in desperate need of him. Isaiah 40:27-31 is a text that gives us hope in times of disappointment. Courage when we don’t know where to turn. When we are at the end of our rope, the God of all grace and power will strengthen us and empower us to press on for his glory and our good.
