"Gospel-Centered Family"

Why do we need a church family? Why should we bother being together in worship and in small groups and in community as the people of God? This Sunday, we looked at one of the most well-known parables that Jesus teaches – the Parable of the Sower. In the Parable of the Sower, we discover that what commentator and preacher Darryl Johnson says is true: "Hearing is one of the most important disciplines of a Christian disciple." Jesus says in this passage, “Let him who has ears to hear, hear.” We need to hear the gospel. We need to sing the gospel. We need to gather to rehearse, repeat, and remember the greatest message on earth: that King Jesus has come to save sinners. How many Christians believe that being in community with God’s people hearing the gospel proclaimed and seeing the gospel applied is absolutely crucial? Let’s gather to hear what Jesus has to say on why being a gospel-centered family is never optional. Pray for the Holy Spirit to come and give us ears to hear Jesus.
