"Common Temptations and an Uncommon Savior"

Ready or not, it’s Thanksgiving. I say “ready or not” because the celebration of Thanksgiving comes on the calendar no matter where we are in our lives and circumstances. Some of you may be struggling to be thankful right now. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 reads “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” Let’s be honest - that’s easier said than done. This Sunday, we studied Satan’s temptations of Jesus. The word devil in Luke 4 is the word “diabolos” in the Greek which literally means to throw across. The devil is throwing pretty much all that he has at Jesus in order to keep Christ from fulfilling His ministry on our behalf. But Jesus hits everything Satan throws at him right out of the park. Whether you feel thankful or not about your circumstances, let’s give thanks to God for Jesus. Jesus never fell into temptation and for that reason, He can deliver us who struggle with the challenges and hardships where God has led us in life. Our sermon is called “Common Temptations and an Uncommon Savior.” Looking forward to giving thanks to God with you because of the hope we have together in Jesus alone!
